Chapter Five

I woke up looking at Roman the next morning, which was our last full day in Aspen. I turned over and sat up, looking out the window at the snowy scene outside, as a small snow flurry was blowing into town and covering the ground in a nice white powder. Aspen has been such an exhilarating experience that I never thought could happen, and it was all happening with the most amazing man I had ever met. Roman embodied everything I wanted; everything I needed. He was kind, beautiful, and most of all, caring. He treated me like a princess and never talked down to me or made me feel inferior like many other guys had with their girlfriends. Well, I knew we weren’t dating, so I wasn’t sure if I could use that comparison, but I wanted to be more. I turned around and watched him as he slept and just wished I could muster up the courage to talk to him about it all. I wanted to find out if this was all just business, or if it was going to turn into pleasure as well. Could we leave this sugar baby and daddy relationship behind and start fresh in a different way? Would Jerome even let something like that happen? I had no idea what his and Roman’s relationship was, but I knew that I couldn’t have Roman in just this way I currently had him. I knew I wanted to talk to him, but I couldn’t do it just yet. I needed to wait until tomorrow, just in case things didn’t go swimmingly. The last thing I needed was to create a fight while we were still here.

“Good morning, beautiful,” he said softly as his eyes opened to the sunlight peering into the window.

“Good morning, handsome,” I said with a smile as I held the covers up across my chest to obscure my naked body.

His fingers danced across my bare back as they trickled down and tapped along the small bits of my bare bottom that were in view. I smiled as I looked back before he sat up and kissed me softly on the lips. Every time we had a cute moment like that, I got one step closer to believing we could be more than what we were. I wasn’t necessarily thinking we would ever get married or anything, but I knew we could at least have a loving and fun relationship. I really had no reason to think otherwise.

“I have a surprise for you downstairs, but stay here so I can get it,” he said as he stretched before getting up and running out of the room.

He had a surprise for me this early in the morning? We’ve been together this entire time, so I knew he didn’t go out and buy me something, unless he did it in the middle of the night during a snowstorm. I couldn’t really think of what it could be, but I soon found out when he walked into the room with a smile plastered across his chiseled face.
